The Dangers of Unethical SEO

Many people think that using unethical SEO tactics such as keyword cramming, having multiple domains pointing to the same destination, and getting involved in backlink building schemes will provide them with good results within the organic search results of popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, an Bing. This may be true.. For a very short time. These popular search engines actually frown on unethical means of artificially inflating your ranking! Many times we have had people come to us to improve their websites performance and ranking within these popular search engines only after participating in such unethical activities. Truth is, it is very hard to rebuild your websites reputation with these search engines if they have already caught on to your little scheme. Many times we have to submit for reconsideration to Google explaining that said client had participated in unethical SEO practices in the past and has sought out our professional services to undo or amend these practices – sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but when asking for reconsideration, honesty is the best policy. We point out all the mistakes previously made (even if they where undetected) and explain what we have done and will continue to do to make sure that such unethical means to get “on top” will not be done anymore.

It is very common that websites get sandboxed or blacklisted from popular search engines. What this means is that your website has been dropped from the search engines index, which can be very hard and strenuous to have undone. This is the number one reason to avoid unethical SEO tactics and schemes.

If you feel that you must use unethical SEO tactics… DON’T!!! If you can not afford an SEO company like us, the best thing to do is reference Googles quality guidelines. You can get outstanding results by being honest, descriptive, and thorough.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the SOPA and PIPA Blackout Strike! Freedom of Speech and Expression is our Constitutional right as United States Citizens and we should always be vigilant to protect these rights! However the fight is far from over and in fact it has just begun. The House of Representatives will push SOPA forward in February and the Senate is still planning to vote on PIPA the 24th of this month (January). So until these intolerable and unconstitutional bills that threaten our very way of life are vetoed by the president of these United States, we will keep the banner in the top right corner of our website and urge everyone else to do the same! We must maintain a FREE and OPEN internet! Rather you own a website or not please keep contacting your representatives and tell them that you oppose the SOPA and PIPA acts or the internet as you know it will come to an end.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

From today to December 31st, we will be donating 20% of all website sales to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. We would like to do our part to help Toys for Tots distribute toys to needy and unfortunate children during the holiday season!

About Toys for TotsToys
for Tots Began in 1947, when Major Bill Hendricks, USCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The idea came form Bill’s wife, Diane. In the fall of 1947, Diane crafted a homemade doll and asked Bill to deliver the doll to an organization, which would give it to a needy child at Christmas. When Bill determined that no agency existed, Diane told Bill that he should start one. He did. The 1947 pilot project was so successful that the Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots in 1948 and expanded it into a nationwide campaign. That year, Marine Corps Reserve units across the nation conducted Toys for Tots campaigns in each community in which a Marine Reserve Center was located. Marines have conducted successful nationwide campaigns at Christmas each year since 1948. The initial objective that remains the hallmark of the program today is to “bring the joy of Christmas to America’s needy children”. Bill Hendricks, a Marine Reservist on weekends, was in civilian life, the Director of Public Relations for Warner Brothers Studio. This enabled him to convince a vast array of celebrities to support Toys for Tots. In 1948, Walt Disney designed the Toys for Tots logo, which we use today. Disney also designed the first Toys for Tots poster used to promote the nationwide program. Nat “King” Cole, Peggy Lee and Vic Damone recorded the Toys for Tots theme composed by Sammy Fain and Paul Webster in 1956. Bob Hope, John Wayne, Doris Day, Lorrie Morgan, Tim Allen, Kenny Rogers and Billy Ray Cyrus are but a few of the long list of celebrities who have given their time and talent to promote Toys for Tots. First Lady Nancy Reagan served as the national Spokesperson in 1983. First Lady Barbara Bush served as the national Spokesperson in 1992 and in her autobiography named Toys for Tots as one of her favorite charities.
